Pain / Musculoskeletal Conditions

Arthritis

Arthritis is an inflammation of the joints, causing pain, swelling or stiffness. We use pain management techniques, such as thermotherapy, acupuncture or massage. Thermotherapy includes moxibustion, TDP lamp, hot stone or hot lava shell or ice. Acupuncture improves blood flow, reducing the inflammation. Orthopedic massage therapy can reduce stiffness, and  manual lymphatic drainage could reduce swelling. Cold laser therapy can reduce and stop the development of scar tissue in the joint. Depending on the stage, the type of arthritis, either a single technique or a combination will be applied.

Lower Back Pain

This is a condition where the patient experiences pain in the low back area with/without injury, however, the cause of the pain can be anywhere from the upper back, pelvis, lower limbs muscle stiffness, joint restrictions, or from internal organ conditions such as kidney stones. So, when low back pain happens, consult your physician first, to clarify the cause of the pain, if it is a muscular-skeletal issue, then massage, acupuncture, chiropractor, or physiotherapy would be a solution. If internal organ Is the cause, acupuncture and herbal medicine would be a complementary treatment to western medicine in reducing or limiting the symptoms.

Motor Vehicle Accident: Injuries / Whiplash

Damage from MVA can vary, from whiplash to broken bones. In our facility, we deal with whiplash grades 1-3. We can help improve mobility of joints, release muscle stiffness, stop headaches, and alleviate neck and back pain.

How do we treat MVA? A combination of acupuncture, moxibustion, orthopedic massage therapy, cold laser. We also can give proper advice for home care, including how to support the spine and provide customized exercise.

Sports Injuries

In acute stages of the injury, acupuncture is often used for pain management, reducing swelling and inflammation by improving blood flow in order to speed up the healing process. In the semi-acute and chronic stage, we usually combine moxibustion and needling to release pain and reduce adhesions, improving mobility.
