Patient:
A 70-year-old patient presented with sudden onset vertigo accompanied by imbalance, nausea, and mild tinnitus. Symptoms began abruptly upon waking and were aggravated by head movement. No history of head trauma or cardiovascular issues.

Assessment:
Physical examination revealed horizontal nystagmus on rightward gaze. Auricular diagnosis (via vascular autonomic signal testing) identified active points corresponding to the vestibular nucleus, inner ear, and sympathetic regulation.

Treatment:
Using German Auricular Medicine principles, Low Level Laser Therapy was applied to the identified auricular points: inner ear, brainstem, and autonomic balance zones. Treatment duration was 50 minutes. Ear seeds were added to active areas at the completion of the Laser Therapy.

Outcome:
After the first treatment, vertigo and imbalance had completely resolved. Follow-up at 2, 5 and 7 days showed full symptom remission and restored equilibrium. No further treatments were necessary.

Conclusion:
German Auricular Medicine provided rapid and lasting relief of acute vertigo in this elderly patient, through modulation of neuro-vestibular and autonomic pathways.

Notes:
The patient’s immediate and successful outcome is most likely attributable to the prompt management of the condition, which was addressed within four hours of the onset of symptoms. Delaying treatment for vertigo can lead to the condition becoming more persistent and complex to manage. The longer one waits to seek medical attention, the more extensive and prolonged the treatment process is likely to be. Early intervention often allows for quicker relief and fewer therapeutic sessions, while prolonged delays may result in worsening symptoms that require multiple treatment modalities and a longer recovery period. Therefore, addressing vertigo promptly not only improves the likelihood of faster resolution but also reduces the overall burden of treatment.
